Dominion is simple. ABC is easy.
Your turn is divided into three phases. Action. buy. Clean-up. We’ll do it in order. every time.
Description of the action phase
Do you have a card in your hand? OK Play the action card. Face up in your play area. Follow the instructions exactly.
Do you draw an extra card? Just do it. Want to attack your opponent? keep going. Do you want to throw cards? Done. Do you want to get the treasure during the purchase? OK Most cards only allow you to perform one action per turn. Unless otherwise stated on the card. You should follow the text as closely as possible. Even if you can’t do everything this card allows, you can still play.
Don’t have an activity card? Skip this step. Go to Buy. It happens often. Especially the first two rounds.
Buy cards from the Supply
Use your treasure card now. In addition, we also add treasures acquired during the action phase. Buy cards from the Supply. These cards are placed directly into the discard pile. These can be used later.
Check prices. Lower left corner. Can you afford it? If your treasure is worth more than the price, buy it. The default is to buy once per round. However, some action cards allow additional purchases.
Is there an additional purchase just for copper? I buy copper. It’s free. Why not?
Cleaning and drawing
Did you buy anything? Place it in the discard pile. Have you ever played action cards? Throw them in there too. Do you have a card in your hand? Throw them away.
Draw 5 new cards. From your draw deck. Don’t have a card? Shuffle the discard pile. Put it under your draw deck. Restart.
What to do if you can’t move?
From the first two rounds? There are no action cards. Just Coppers and Estates. Skip the action step. Go to “Buy”. Then Clean-up.
This happens throughout the game. Luck of the draw. No big deal. Just proceed.
Dominion doesn’t care about your luck. It cares about your choices. How do you build a deck that wins? You buy cards. Discard the bad cards. You repeat.
Who will take the next turn? You’ll see.
